Sejda deserves its reputation: transparent limits, honest pricing, a $5 week pass long before that was fashionable, and a web editor that can genuinely click into a PDF's existing text and retype it. Among upload-based tools, it's the one we'd recommend without wincing.
The friction is the caps. Free means 3 tasks a day, 50MB, 200 pages — and modern phone scans blow through 50MB casually. A 62MB scanned lease simply doesn't open, and the answer becomes a subscription or another tool.
