Privacy Policy

The short version

Your documents never leave your device. DoceasePDF opens, edits and saves PDF files entirely inside your browser (or inside the app on iOS). We do not upload, store, scan or even see your files. This applies to the website at doceasepdf.com and to the DoceasePDF mobile apps.

Your documents

All PDF processing — viewing, editing, annotating, merging, splitting, rotating, signing — happens locally on your device using in-browser technology (WebAssembly). Your files are never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. When you close the page or app, the document is gone from memory. We could not recover, read or share your documents even if asked to, because we never receive them.

Information we do collect

If you create an account (optional), we store the information needed to operate it: your email address, your name if you provide one, encrypted authentication data, and your subscription status. This is stored with our database provider (Neon, hosted on AWS in the United States). We do not sell or share this information with advertisers.

If you purchase a subscription, payment is handled by our payment providers (such as Stripe, or Apple in the iOS app). We never see or store your card details — we only receive confirmation that a payment occurred, alongside your subscription status.

Cookies and analytics

We use the cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in to your account, and we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — things like which pages are visited and which tools are opened. Analytics data is aggregated usage statistics only: it is never tied to your documents or their contents, which never leave your device in the first place. We do not use advertising cookies, do not run ads personalization, and do not sell data to ad networks.

The iOS and mobile apps

The DoceasePDF mobile apps follow the same principles as the website: documents are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us. Files you open in the app stay in the app's local storage and under your device's standard file permissions. Account and purchase data, if you sign in or subscribe, is limited to what is described above.

Data retention and deletion

Documents: never retained — we never have them. Account data: kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us, and we will action it within 30 days.

Children

DoceasePDF is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
