Apple Pages can export a document as PDF directly. Exporting makes a separate PDF copy, so your original Pages file stays unchanged.

Open the document in Pages
Open the .pages document in Pages on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. If you only have a browser, open it in Pages for iCloud.

Choose Export
On Mac, choose File then Export To then PDF. On iPhone or iPad, open the Share or More menu, choose Export, then select PDF.

Save the PDF copy
Choose where to save or share the exported PDF. Open the copy to make sure the layout looks right before sending it.
Convert Pages to PDF on a Mac
In Pages for Mac, open the document and choose File > Export To > PDF. You can select export options before saving the copy. The original Pages document is not changed by export.
If your document uses uncommon fonts, check the exported file before you send it. A PDF normally keeps the layout stable for people who do not use Apple Pages.
Convert a Pages file to PDF without a Mac
Pages for iCloud can open and export Pages documents from a supported browser. Sign in to iCloud, open Pages, upload or open your document, then use Download a Copy and select PDF where available.
On iPhone or iPad, Pages offers Export from the Share or More menu. Save the PDF to Files or choose the app you want to send it with.
